In 1988 he moved to Berlin. In 1993 he received a grant enabling him to spend seven months in New York. He lives in Berlin and Paris.

Thomas Florschuetz photographs the human body without, however, taking it as his real subject. His principal interest lies in the compositional aspects of photography. Alongside portraits of his friends, he has largely produced photographic images that are characterized by the use of radical perspectives. Often these images show details of the body surface, only a few centimeters in diameter, of which it is impossible to say to which part of the body they belong. Such photographs are usually printed on a very large scale and exhibited in series. Florschuetz eschews the use of titles to explain the subject of his images and employs them merely to point out the structural qualities predominant in any particular grouping of them: "Staircase", "Pyramid", "Diptych". During the long periods he has spent in Berlin, Paris and New York since 1988, Florschuetz mastered new photographic reproduction techniques, for example C-print or cibachrome. From the late 1980s his images gradually became larger, more colourful and more abstract. In the early 1990s his preferred motif became the human hand, which he photographed back-lit, as a vast, glowing red apparition.
During the last two years, however, the colouring in his work has become paler and Florschuetz's attention has shifted to the surface of legs and feet.

Selected Solo Exhibitions
2022
Thomas Florschuetz: Overlays ,Haus am Waldsee, A Place for the Arts ,Berlin, Germany
2021
Thomas Florschuetz: Elephant's Breath ,DIEHL ,Charlottenburg, Berlin, Germany
2020
Thomas Florschuetz: Framing ,Galerie m Bochum ,Bochum, Germany
2016
Thomas Florschuetz: Adaptation ,Galerie m Bochum ,Bochum, Germany
2013
Thomas Florschuetz: Glas/Wasser ,Galerie m Bochum ,Bochum, Germany
2011
Thomas Florschuetz: Imperfekt ,Museet for Fotokunst (Museum of Photographic Art) ,Odense, Denmark
2010
Thomas Florschuetz: Buildings and Structures ,Galerie m Bochum ,Bochum, Germany
Thomas Florschuetz ,Galerie m Bochum ,Bochum, Germany
2009
Thomas Florschuetz: Jets ,DIEHL ,Charlottenburg, Berlin, Germany
Selected Group Exhibitions
2023
I Want to See Art ,Les Douches la Galerie ,10e, Paris, France
2022
Full House ,MKM Museum Küppersmühle of Modern Art ,Duisburg, Germany
Antipodes ,Galerie m Bochum ,Bochum, Germany
2020
Glass and Concrete. (Orchideen) XIV" (2003) represents a monumental masterpiece of structural energy and sensory dravosť, captured by the internationally acclaimed German contemporary master Thomas Florschuetz. In this profound photographic graphic, the artist completely bypasses the traditional boundaries of botanical documentation, using extreme macro-perspective to deconstruct the organic forms of a blooming orchid. The composition stages an intense optical vibration, focusing on the soft, velvety flesh of the petals as they transition from a delicate pastel pink to a fierce, structural crimson line. Suspended against a translucent, airy sky-blue backdrop, the artwork commands the atmosphere of any elite international interior with immense minimalistic force.

The Narrative Vision (The Architecture of the Flower):

Thomas Florschuetz, whose large-scale works are historically celebrated and permanently preserved in institutions like the Museum of Modern Art (MoMA) in New York, is a supreme architect of fragments. In the "Orchideen" series, he pours his lifelong fascination with space, skin, and optical depth into a dance of pure form on heavy archival paper stock. The stark contrast between the clinical, sharp textures of the flower's throat and the blurry, dreamlike softness of the outer wings reflects the emotional purity of his lens. The artwork serves as a visual sanctuary for the eyes, converting a simple orchid into a bold, abstract manifesto of living growth and modern color harmony.

A Blue-Chip Collector's Asset (Contemporary German Rarity):

As a verified authorized graphic print accompanied by the official Zertifikat (COA), "O.T. To own a verified Florschuetz work from this iconic 2003 botanical era is to possess a fragment of global fine art excellence—a robust financial asset that defines the ultimate luxury gallery experience.

//cdn.shopify.com/s/files/1/0915/9796/3606/files/377251505_836871461777227_7796755865786105259_n.jpg?v=1782213884
